Excited to share my new favorite hair care products from OUAI!
Not going to lie, buying these products was by complete chance, as I went to my local hair salon to grab some of my regular products but they were closed by the time I arrived. So naturally, I drove to Ulta and started browsing. Normally, I am a fan of R+Co products, Olaplex, & Redken, but I will definitely be prioritizing the OUAI hair care line until someone gives me a reason not to. I am obsessed! And let’s be real, they’re the most aesthetically pleasing shampoo and conditioner products I’ve ever seen. Additionally, it’s no surprise that these products are great; they are created by celebrity hair stylist Jen Atkin, styling the locks of the models such as Bella Hadid & Chrissy Teigen. Last but not least, you can order shampoo and conditioner refill packets, which is a great sign to me that the company is moving in a sustainable direction!I
I linked all of these products below! Just click the image. Just below the image, you can find my individual reviews of each of the products. I also added in some comparison factors to other products that I regularly use.
OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo & Conditioner
Starting with the shampoo and conditioner, I chose the fine hair combo. I highlight my hair pretty regularly, so it likely has damage/breakage from bleach. I also feel that this winter took a toll on my hair, and it seems a bit thin lately. That being said, this shampoo and conditioner was seriously everything I needed and more, and it will be my first choice/ recommendation for those looking for a shampoo and conditioner. My hair has taken less time to dry, easier to style, light weight and voluminous, and I can’t get over how good it smells. Usually, I feel like a lot of products make hair smell great but it lasts only while wet. Well that’s not the case for these products. My hair smells amazing after a blowout for at least 2 days. In reference to the conditioner, I also liked that the directions include root application. After highlighting my hair, my strands really need moisture, but I also don’t want my hair to need dry shampoo the next day at the roots. This conditioner meets both of these needs and I felt like I definitely can go more than one day without showering. I work out often and teach yoga sculpt, so I can’t really speak to the trend of not washing my hair for days.
OUAI Finishing Crème Review:
I LOVE this product. I was formerly using Olaplex #6 styling cream. However, based on my experience, I would rather buy only Olaplex #3 for the hair bonding benefits and switch to a crème like this for protecting the hair and styling. This is just personal preference but I don’t love the smell of Olaplex #6 in my hair the next day. I felt that the #6 may have been causing extra oil production that my hair wouldn’t normally create. In comparison, this product keeps my hair protected, smells AMAZING, and keeps my hair still super light weight for volume after blow drying my hair. It’s a product I will be using every day, keeping my blowout perfect, smooth and shiny.
OUAI Volume Spray:
This product stands out to me because of the smell. I know I keep saying all these products smell great, but no really, this one is the strongest. It lasts forever. And well, if your man or woman just happens to give you one of those cute forehead kisses or you’re snuggling up, you’ll be smelling like you just came out of the shower and he may or may not fall in love with you right then and there. But back to the point, I think if you spray this right on the roots, dry or damp hair, this is great way to add extra volume without being sticky/ changing the hair texture too much. It also absolutely does add volume, so you can count on this if you’re using it. If you’re looking for just a dry volume spray after drying the hair and you don’t love working with a round brush very much, I am still inclined to say R+Co Balloon Spray is where it’s at. However, this one smells better, and is great for styling with the round brush if you’re looking to add the volume in while you create that blowout. It also is very natural looking, where as balloon spray is a bit more Jessie James Decker, go big or go home volume.
