You really can’t go into Zara and walk out with nothing, especially during the fall season. In my opinion, the best year round pieces seem to hit the racks around this time of the year, especially if you happen to live in New England, where its relatively chilly 75% of the year.
Recently I posted on my Instagram, @BalancedwithSara wearing a few of my recent purchases. Now I’m here to the share links, number IDs for the items, as well as sizing details and descriptions relating to fit and quality.
My Combat Boots:
Item Name on Zara: Laced Leather Ankle Boots with Buckle
Color: Black | 2177/810
Size: 37 -TTS. I normally wear a size 7 In shoes for the most part. From Zara I always wear a size 37, in boots and heels. (For a boot size reference, in Steve Madden boots, I wear a 7.5)
Fit/ Quality: Fits TTS and is pretty comfortable for a combat boot. I walked 3 miles in them last week, and my feet were fine, especially for breaking in leather shoes. Fit is slightly narrow. I think the quality of these boots are good so far and the price is decent in comparison to other trending combat boots that might break the bank.
My Striped Shirt:
Item Name on Zara: Oversized Striped T-Shirt
Color striped | 0858/470
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/oversized-striped-t-shirt-p00858470.html?v1=118160320
Size: Medium (Small would work too, but the medium creates a casual fit) Runs TTS
Fit/ Quality: Love the thickness/ quality of this shirt. This is a great every day piece and can be worn casually or in the office. It is a thicker material, but still remains light and airy. It sits softly over the shoulders. This top fits the bill for anyone looking for a striped sweater / or long sleeve to add into the wardrobe for everyday wear.
My Leather Leggings:
These are actually not from Zara, so I’m linking my recommendation for leather leggings below on my LTK.

My Corduroy Jacket:
Item Name on Zara: Short Corduroy Overshirt
Color Ecru | 8862/566
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/short-corduroy-overshirt-p08862566.html?v1=125980809
Size: Small
Fit/ Quality: This jacket is soft, comfortable, and runs TTS. This piece is great for keeping it casual. I would pair this with any denim pant or legging to run errands or wear with a cute dress for a lunch date. Most importantly, I chose this jacket because it can be paired with denim jeans. I really needed a plain, daytime jacket that isn’t also denim. Only Britney can truly pull off denim on denim. You know if you know.
This jacket also comes in a Sage green color, which is super cute!

Let’s Talk Shackets
Looking for that perfect fall flannel or Shacket? Look no further, I’m linking my two favorites from Zara.
Why am into the shacket trend? I love that these can be worn inside as an acceptable layering piece, but it can also double as a jacket for the fall.
My Neutral/ Warm Tones Shacket:
Item Name on Zara: Plaid Overshirt
Color Ecru / Beige | 8709/126
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/plaid-overshirt-p08709126.html?v1=123603353&v2=1882203
Size: XS. These definitely run oversized! Check my photo for the fit. It is roomy in the arms, which is great for layering. I definitely don’t like when jackets are too tight on my arms.
Fit/ Quality: The quality is great and actually provides warmth without being too heavy. I love that the material is a bit shaggy on the outside, which gives it some edge compared to other shackets on the market. Only potential downside, the inside is not soft, so I would prefer to pair this with a shirt underneath rather than stand alone. Despite not being soft on the inside, I’m okay with it, because I like this is a layering piece, and I know I won’t get overheated.
I also bought this shacket in the color below and wore it as extra layer in NH last weekend. I wouldn’t say its equivalent to a Patagonia fleece for effective warmth, but if you’re looking for cute weekend trail fit or a plaid jacket for city strolls, this is a great option. I currently can’t decide which one is my favorite, but I’m loving the earthy tones of both.
My Darker, Earthy Toned Shacket:
Item Name on Zara: Plaid Overshirt
Color Ecru / Khaki | 8810/126
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/plaid-overshirt-p08810126.html?v1=125359354&v2=1882203
Size: XS (same size review as other shacket)
My Jeans & Megan Fox Style Inspiration:
Item Name on Zara: Mom Fit. Jeans
Color Dark gray | 7223/222
Size: 36 or US4. I detail my regular sizing for denim in my other blog post, linked here. https://balancedwithsara.com/favorite-denim-jeans-how-your-choice-actually-impacts-your-financial-wealth/
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/z1975-mom-fit-jeans-p07223222.html?v1=121797020
Quality/ Fit: Big fan of these jeans! I normally buy denim from Aritzia, but these were quality denim for the price and the exact color and style I’ve been looking for. My style inspiration for these pants is Megan Fox’s look to the right. I can’t wait to pair this denim for both casual wear or a night out.
Balance Tip: Know your Skin tone! – I’m a big fan of charcoal grey, due to having cool toned skin. Charcoal/ Grey tones tend to be flattering with cool toned complexion. Knowing your skin tone can be super helpful! For example, if you don’t know your best colors to wear/ or which hair color suits you, try checking your skin tone by looking at your wrist. If your wrist’s veins are blue/ purple, you’re likely cool toned. If it’s greenish, you are likely warm toned. Once you know your tone, it can be easier to decide whether you look best in a cream or stark white sweater, or if you should get warm vs ashy highlights. This is why sometimes in the dead of the winter, some colors can make you feel like you look a little ill, or your best ever with porcelain- like skin.
My Neutral Tone Boots:
Item Name on Zara: Laced Leather High Tops
Color Off White | 2161/810
Link: https://www.zara.com/us/en/laced-leather-high-tops-p12161810.html?v1=109782004
Size: 37, TTS
Fit/ Quality: These shoes definitely pass the quality check. They also are padded on the inside sole, making them extra comfortable to walk in. I also love having another boot in the wardrobe that doesn’t have a heel, which can make even the most basic everyday outfit a little edgy.
Beanie/ Cozy Winter Hat:
Item Name on Zara: Knit Beanie
Color Black | 3739/227
https://www.zara.com/us/en/knit-beanie-p03739227.html?v1=117787409
Size: One Size fits all!
Fit: This is definitely is a thicker fabric for a beanie. It is a great option for a basic winter hat that will not only keep you warm when the temperature drops but also cover up bad hair days when dry shampoo just isn’t cutting it.
Hope you enjoyed my top picks from Zara! If you end up purchasing any of these recommendations, please tag me on your Instagram post or stories! I would love to see how you styled it!
